Englander Institute for Precision Medicine

August 2022 EIPM Director's Memo

A monthly newsletter of the EIPM

Dear Members of the Englander Institute,

Congratulations to Dr. Jedd Wolchok, a highly esteemed physician-scientist who pioneered immunotherapy for the treatment of melanoma, on becoming the new Director of the Meyer Cancer Center! We look forward to expanding and deepening our partnership with the MCC under his new leadership.

Grace Le, a Cornell Tech grad student, spent several months earlier this year interning with our colleague Alex Sigaras, M.S. in the EIPM AI-XR Lab. We hope you enjoy learning more about her background and research interests in this article posted on the EIPM website.

July 28th was National Intern Day, and we celebrated by highlighting on our social media channels the current and former high school and college students who have participated in our joint Meyer Cancer Center/EIPM internship program. We wish all of them success in the future and thank the many staff members who volunteered their time to mentor the next generation of investigators.

We have several exciting new career opportunities at the EIPM, including Fellowships, new positions in informatics and computational biology, plus a few research technician openings. Please share this information within your professional networks so we can quickly staff up.

Thank you for your hard work and continued dedication to our mission, I hope you enjoy the rest of the summer.

Sincerely,

Olivier Elemento, Ph.D.
